Charge carrier dynamics in organic solar cells

In recent years organic solar cells made great progress with regard to efficiency.

Further increase in efficiency is only possible if the dynamic of the charge carriers, which are created by photon absorption, is better comprehended. The thesis should make a contribution to this. Essential for the functionality of solar cells are the so-called charge-transfer-excitons, which are created at boundaries as an intermediate state. In this thesis, the creation and decay of charge-transfer-excitons shall be studied through short-time-spectroscopy in different material systems.
