Radicals

Current publications have shown that bismuth radicals are isolable species. Contributions by the Lichtenberg Group have demonstrated that transient bismuth radicals are unique key species in stoichiometric and catalyzed reactions such as cyclo-isomerizations, element-element-coupling, and dehydrocoupling. In addition, the generation of highly reactive organometallic biradicals, such as methylbismut, has been demonstrated for the first time.
