AG Junker - EvoEcoPlants

Our research and teaching focuses on plant-animal-bacteria interactions, community ecology, chemical communication, and mycology. We are trying to understand microbial effects on the plant phenotype, the (functional) composition and (multi-)diversity of communities, and plant-animal interactions. Furthermore, we are investigating how plant traits shape microbial communities and interaction networks. Additional to basic research, our work is contributing towards efficient applications in agriculture and in the reduction of climate-driven natural hazards. Our research and teaching combines fieldwork and experimental studies, chemical and molecular analyses, and is complemented by the development and application of statistical approaches.
