While the demand as well as interest for long-term preservation and open access to research data is growing, ensuring this is a challenge shared across the scientific community. Researchers find themselves often confronted with questions such as: Where can I find or publish research data? Which possibilities and responsibilities do I have if I want to make my own data available? And how do I find a repository that best fits my data and needs?

Charlotte Neidiger from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) will present one tool to tackle this challenge in the form of the "re3data" service, a global registry of research data repositories across all academic disciplines that promotes a culture of sharing, increased access and better visibility of research data. The talk will highlight the service's foundational principles, functionality and usage, as well as provide tips and tricks for efficient utilization.

Speaker: Charlotte Neidiger, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

Chair: Judith Dähne, Hochschule RheinMain
