Safety information

Please ensure that the security certificate specified in the instructions is both properly installed on your operating system and properly stored in the profile of your WiFi connection. Otherwise there are serious security risks!

  • Entry requirements

    - You have the login credentials for your university account (Staff or Students).

    - Operating system: Android should be on the latest version available for your device.

    - An existing internet connection on the device (mobile data, hotspot or other WiFi).

    - Root certificate: The T-Telesec Global Root Class 2 certificate must be available and installed (see root certificate).

    The following overview offers simple solutions for possible problems when using the WiFi networks of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. If the solutions listed do not help, please send an e-mail to .

    Problem Possible causes and solutions
    The SSID eduroam is not listed.
    • The WiFi adapter on your Android device is deactivated. Activate the WiFi adapter Menu → Settings → Wireless and networks → Wi-Fi.
    • You are not in the WiFi reception area of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. You can find an overview of the WiFi  hotspots available at the university in the following list: WiFi hotspots (Uni-Internal/GER)
    No network connection can be established after logging in.
    • Username and/or password are incorrect. Please check your entries and try logging in again.
      Please enter your full username (e.g. Username@students.uni-marburg.de or username@staff.uni-marburg.de). You can check your password on the following website:
      https://admin.students.uni-marburg.de/info_user.html
    • The settings for the WiFi network and/or WiFi authentication are not correct. Make sure that the settings are correct.
    • The manually set certificate is incorrectly classified as untrusted by Android. Clearing the Android login and certificate memory should solve this problem. You must then reinstall the root certificate.
    Where can I find the Android version of my device?
    • Settings → System → Device info → Android version / Firmware version. Please note that the menus may differ depending on the Android version and device manufacturer.
