Marburg University's Patent and Utilization Strategy
Pursuant to § 3 of the State of Hesse’s Higher Education Act, Marburg University has the statutory mandate to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology into the realm of professional practice. Marburg University is keenly aware of this responsibility and constantly strives to both protect and exploit the knowledge generated in the university for the benefit of business and society alike. The core idea behind Marburg University’s patent and utilization strategy is to increase the transfer of knowledge and technology from the university sector to the economy and business world at large.

Patent Consulting and Utilization
The university's transfer department works closely with established transfer agencies and patent attorneys to protect the university's inventions under patent law and to utilize them commercially. All information exchanged in this process is of course treated confidentially.
