Application

Before completing the online application, you should read the following information as well as the application requirements carefully.

Requested information in online application forms and required documents must be submitted in English; documents in languages other than English or German must be submitted in form of a certified translation in English.

For application purposes, simple scans of the belowmentioned documents suffice. Please note that successful applicants will be required to provide certified hard copies of documents before being finally admitted to the ECAR programme.

Application deadline:   9 April 2012

The following documents must be submitted online via the uni-assist application portal.

1. Completely filled out online application forms.

2. Secondary school certificate proving the higher education entrance qualification.

3. Graduation certificate plus academic transcript record.

4. Explanations of the grading system at your university.

5. Curriculum vitae (in tabular form).

6. Proof of English proficiency of at least B2 level in the common European framework of reference for languages. If an applicant's first language is English or her previous studies at the university level have been conducted wholly in English (written proof from the University is required) the applicant is exempted from providing an English language proficiency test.

7. A letter of motivation explaining why the applicant would like to study in the programme (max. 500 words).

8. Proof of work experience (if applicable).

   
   

Procedure for online application

Uni-assist changed the application system after 1 March. If you submitted an application before 1 March, it is registered and there is no need to submit an application under the new system again. If you like to access your application, you will need to log into the old system.

Applications via uni-assist portal after 1 March 2012

Please visit the uni-assist portal, create an account and follow the instructions during the online application.

During the first steps, you are required to search for the ECAR programme. Following steps guide you through the search:

• "Please choose the semester": Select "Wintersemester 2012"
• "Please choose your desired qualification": Select "Master"
• "Please choose the university you are interested in": Select "Marburg, Philipps-Universität Marburg"
• "Please choose the academic field you are interested in": Select "Wirtschaftswissenschaften"
• Click "start search"
• ECAR will be listed in the search results and can be selected to continue the application.

Searching free text for "ecar" will not lead to the desired result.

Applications via uni-assist portal before 1 March 2012

Please follow this link to the old uni-assist portal. A registration for the application portal is required. Afterwards, online forms can be filled out, "Economic Change of the Arab Region" can be selected from the list of Master's programmes, and documents can be uploaded.

Important note: During the registration procedure at the old uni-assist application portal, you will be required in a first step to state your "Qualification for admission to higher education". The option "I obtained my qualification for admission to higher education abroad" must be selected. Otherwise, the ECAR programme will not appear in the list of study programmes. During the application procedure, you are asked to opt for "winter semester" or "summer semester". Please choose "winter semester".
