News: We just got a grant from ERA-IB/BMBF for project in synthetic biology. We want to develop a genetic platform technology to optimize the concerted activities of hydrolytic enzymes for biomass processing applications using a novel method of accelerated combinatorial gene assembly from a library of genes in standardised modular format. My group will supported this approach by advanced computational modeling (see also here). 

In this context there are openings for one Ph.D. student and one postdoc. Prerequisites are good programing skills and a master in theoretical physics (or a related area). Basic knowledge of bacterial metabolism and/or computational physics are advantageous. Applications can be sent to me via email.
