Welcome to the Theoretical Semiconductor Physics Group
The theorists in the group work on a theoretical description of the optical and electronic properties of semiconductors. The research focusses on the development and application of microscopic models of the interaction between material excitations and external fields. Properties of the material under consideration, e.g. disorder or quantization due to dimensional reduction, play a crucial role. Additional to the purely theoretical work there is a strong collaboration with the experimental semiconductor physics group.
Our group participates in the European Graduate College Electron-Electron Interactions in Solids (Speaker: Prof. F. Gebhard) and in the Graduate College Funktionalisierung von Halbleitern (official start October 2012).
