Student assistants

My name is Catharina Luttmann and I have been working as a student assistant in the Ag Phonetik since 1 February 2025. Before moving to Marburg, I did two bachelor's degrees in Freiburg. The first was in English and French, the second one in English and American Studies and German linguistics. Following my graduation, I moved to Marburg in October 2024 to start a master's degree in linguistics: cognition and communication.

I am interested in different fields within linguistics, such as psycho- and neurolinguistics, dialectology or forensic phonetics. For my bachelor's dissertation, for instance, I designed a self-paced reading study investigating gender associations German L1 speakers have when reading English terms designating people. Therefore, I looked at whether a playgroup leader is more strongly associated with a male referent than a florist as the suffix -er is used for male referents in German.

You can follow what I am doing by taking a look at our Instagram page, which I and the student assistant from Sprechwissenschaft supervise together.
