Moamen Gouda is a research associate at the Chair of Institutional Economics. He is currently an associate professor of Middle-East Economics at the Graduate School of International and Area Studies (GSIAS), Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Seoul, South Korea. His primary fields of study include political economy of Muslim-majority countries, law and economics of Islam, economics of religion, economic history, and constitutional economics. His ultimate goal is to understand how institutions influence individual- and societal-level economic, political, and social choices, particularly in the Middle-East
