Dr. Johannes Zahner

Johannes Zahner received his doctoral degree from the Philipps-Universität Marburg in 2021, where he analyzed the communication of the European Central Bank (ECB). For his thesis, he analyzed textual data from various sources and used different machine learning techniques to identify a number of latent variables that provide insight into the ECB's target selection, target definition, and target achievement. For his dissertation, he was awarded the Karl Paul Hensel Prize for contributions to the advancement of institutional economics. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Goethe University Frankfurt, where he continues his research in institutional economics, monetary policy, natural language processing and machine learning.
