Bioethics Research Group at the Center for Synthetic Microbiology

The Bioethics Research Group at the Center for Synthetic Microbiology at Philipps-Universität Marburg promotes interdisciplinary discourse and debates conflicts within this new field of research as well as the opportunities for its use. In this context, this research group headed by Prof. Dr. Voigt has developed a step model for the ethical evaluation of synthetic biology.

Ernst Troeltsch was one of the most important politically active scholars in Germany during the First World War. His contributions were noticed beyond Germany. They are impressive documentation of the cultural self-conception of Germany’s position in Western modernity and of the growing insight into the necessity for democratic change. Volume 12 of the Ernst Troeltsch Kritische Gesamtausgabe [Complete Critical Edition] includes 34 of Troeltsch’s political writings and speeches between 1914 and 1918.
