Matter excitation on stacked 2D semiconductor crystals emits light in preferred direction

A team from the Mittelhessen Research Campus has detected quasiparticles that extend across two layers in self-generated two-dimensional (2D) crystals. This is reported by a group of researchers led by physicists Dr. Arash Rahimi-Iman of Justus Liebig University Giessen and Professor Dr. Martin Koch of Philipps University Marburg in the journal Scientific Reports. Research on materials, molecules and energy is one of the focal points of the Forschungscampus Mittelhessen (FCMH).
