01.10.2025 New project on ultrafast dynamics in hybrid organic/2D heterostructures.
We are excited to launch our new LOEWE Exploration 2025 project with Prof. G. Witte’s group, exploring how twisting organic crystals on 2D materials can control optoelectronic properties. These effects will be probed using time-resolved momentum microscopy.

We have been successful to secure funding for a new project via the LOEWE Exploration call 2025! Together with the group of Prof. G. Witte, for the next two years, we will explore how to add a ‘twist’ to hybrid organic/2D heterostructures. The properties of heterostructures consisting of different 2D materials are routinely controlled by changing their relative twist angle. In this way, the exciting properties of the emergent moiré potential can be exploited. In our new project, we now aim to twist well-defined organic crystal with respect to 2D layers. In this way, we aim to control optoelectronic properties, as will be probed with time-resolved momentum microscopy.
