Workshop on Research Data Management on October 9th/10th organized by ELSICS

On October 9th and 10th a workshop on Research Data Management was held by the DFG research unit FOR_5065 (ELSICS) in Marburg. About 20 members of ELSICS discussed concepts of research data management together with representatives from the NFDI4chem and FAIRmat consortia. Topics included repositories, electronic lab notebooks (ELNs), Standardization and Metadata and Sharing of data.

ELSICS aims at improved understanding of energy landscapes and structure in conjunction with transport function in ion conducting solids. These materials are considered relevant e.g. in the field of energy conversion and storage. One characteristic mark of this research unit is that individual material samples are passed on between 5 different experimental groups in a sequence. The data of all experimental groups are shared with 2 theory groups to finally reach the highest level of understanding. To this end research data management is essential.

This workshop was at the same time the kick-off meeting of the 2nd funding period of ELSICS, see
