Gateway Program
The M4C Gateway Program offers underrepresented and disadvantaged groups in the scientific community access to cutting-edge training, with the goal of empowering participants and preparing them for diverse careers in research.
More specifically, the program aims to integrate talented researchers into the German academic system and familiarize them with its practices and conventions. Fellows will pursue their own research projects while receiving individualized training and mentoring to develop both scientific and transferable skills. This preparation is designed to position them for subsequent doctoral studies within M4C or in related fields across Germany and Europe.
The M4C Gateway Program focuses among others on (1) scientists from the Global South, (2) visually impaired researchers, and (3) individuals with non-traditional academic trajectories, including those returning to research after career breaks. By offering these researchers the opportunity to (re)enter academia, the program also benefits from their diverse perspectives and experiences, enriching and advancing the cluster’s scientific mission.
