Summer Symposium of the Junior GBM

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
welcome to the website for this year’s jGBM Summer Symposium on June 19th – June 21st in Marburg, organized by the junior-GBM South West!

Our aim is to bring together young scientists for an exchange of ideas and to discuss scientific news. Ten years ago, the Summer Symposium was also held in Marburg, so we are happy for it to take place here again for this anniversary!

This year's conference will be on synthetic biology — we will cover topics of metabolic engineering & protein design, synthetic genetics, and applied synthetic biology. We have speakers from both industry and academia, including Merck Innovation and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology.

Moreover, by joining a workshop, you can gain deeper insight into topics such as how to build a career in synthetic biology or what kind of ethical considerations must be taken into account when working in this field, including discussions or hands-on experiences.
