Specialisation in Cell Biology
The Cell Biology specialisation deals with the cell as the fundamental unit of life. If we understand the structure, composition and function of the cell with its various organelles in detail, we can also form a picture of cell networks in tissue or in a complete organism. We find disturbances in their interaction in the most diverse forms of disease. This is also reflected in a large number of clinical disciplines that rely on cell biology knowledge and analysis methods. Working groups from human genetics, lung research, nephrology, pathology and tumour biology are represented in the study focus. Our graduates receive an intellectually and technically demanding education that qualifies them for all biomedical specialisms.
