High Performance Computing (HPC) - For Whom and How is HPC Suitable in Research?

HeFDI Data Talk on Friday, October 7, 2022, 11-12h

The online event is free of charge; To participate you have to register. With the registration you will receive the access data, which are valid for all talks of our two-week series.

High-performance computing (HPC) has long been established as a method in many areas of research. However, the range of applications is still expanding - not least thanks to Big Data and artificial intelligence. Moreover, researchers are rarely introduced to this important research method during their studies. Two experts from the Hessian Competence Center for High Performance Computing (HKHLR), Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Reimann and Dr. Christian Iwainsky, will demonstrate common HPC applications and techniques, explain the HPC ecosystem in Hesse and describe the services offered to users in Hessian universities. The talk is intended to give all interested parties an insight into the possibilities HPC has for their own research.

HeFDI Data Talks is a virtual event series on current data management topics, held biweekly on Fridays from 11-12h. A program overview is also available.
