Current Event: Archiving and publication of research data

Date: 15.02.2023, 10 a.m.

Presentation: Judith Dähne, RhineMain University of Applied Sciences

Duration: 2 hours

Journal publication is often the goal of research work, but the data itself can and should also be published. In the last basic module of the series of events, we will discuss how this can be done, which publication options are available and what needs to be taken into account. You will gain as much practical knowledge as possible through the exemplary presentation of individual data repositories for quantitative and qualitative data as well as the test publication of data in a repository. Archiving research data is also part of good scientific practice. In detail, the following questions are addressed: What do we mean by archiving as distinct from storage and long-term archiving? Where can this be done?

Module contents
- Why publish data?
- What should be archived?
- Concepts of storage & archiving
