Workshop as part of PlanForSuccess@Marburg in the project "UMR divers: Diversität - Orientierung - Studienerfolg" of the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and the Arts

The thought of the upcoming exam phase triggers fear, resistance or worry? Do you feel overwhelmed by the mass of study material and the time pressure before the exam?

In this 3-hour online workshop you get the opportunity to deal with your own learning process. You will get to know yourself and your learning needs. You will also find out what type of learner you are. Based on this, you will get to know a series of concrete learning techniques (SQ4R, Loci, Pomodoro, Alpen, question portfolio), so that you can structure your learning process individually. In a short theoretical part we also deal with learning in general as a complex process.

Learning objectives: After attending this workshop you will be able to ...

  1. describe and consider your learning type and your learning needs.
  2. choose from a selection of learning techniques and identify those that best suit you.
  3. put learning techniques in practice.
  4. describe the process of learning in a basic way.

Methods:

- short information units

- individual and group work

- reflection exercises

Assignments in advance:

  1. Please bring a scientific text that you have to read in a seminar.
  2. Please observe yourself in your learning process in the 2 weeks before the workshop and take notes: when do I learn? With what feeling do I learn? What is already working well? What would I like to change?
