Virtual meetings belong to everyday life in the Corona pandemic. The University of Marburg is launching two new online programs for foreign students in the summer semester of 2021.

Philipps-Universität Marburg launches two new programs for international students in the summer semester 2021: „MarburgOnline:VirtualExchange 2021“ (MO:VE 2021) and „virtual Meeting POINT for International Students“ (vPOINT).

MO:VE 2021 is the first virtual online exchange program for students from international partner institutions. It provides a study and cultural experience at the University of Marburg without actually having to travel to Marburg. Digitally supported advising and counseling services complement the virtual study program for international students to help them increase their chances of good academic success. These counseling services will help students to facilitate the start of their studies, enhance professional study guidance, and support international graduates access the labor market.

The portal vPOINT, an innovative model project at the University of Marburg, is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with 180.000 Euros provided by the German Federal Foreign Office. vPOINT provides students from abroad with access to digital and barrier-free meeting and support formats which they can use to establish contact with their host university and other students already from their home country, during the period between admission and the start of their studies.

From 2021 to 2023, Philipps-Universität Marburg will consistently expand their offer of digital advising and support for prospective and current international students. The vPOINT portal will then be a central platform for all questions concerning study orientation, study organization, but also student life in Marburg. The digital services will also include multimedia components and help international students to complete their studies successfully. The virtual meeting point vPOINT is intended to foster the social integration of international students and is considered a further step in the internationalization and digitization of Philipps-Universität.
