Dear Collegues,

we have the pleasure to announce that the second Middle European Student Indology Conference (MESIC) is to be held from April 20th till April 23rd 2010, at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. We kindly invite students of Indology to participate in it by sharing and exchanging the knowledge and ideas regarding to their study field. This will be done in a form of student paper presentation and following discussions on themes as far ranged as India's ancient and recent history, her rich cultural and religious phenomena, its language situation, its classical or modern literature and so on.

Everyone, who is interested in presenting a paper should send us a written abstract (no more than 200 words) sumarising their topic of choice. This will be later read and accepted or rejected by an agreed international committee of students from all the universities. The expected total time for presenting a paper will be 30 minutes (20 minutes for the paper and 10 minutes for a discussion).

The deadline of sending the abstracts is January 10th 2010.

After we receive your abstracts, we shall prepare the final time-table of the conference with the abstracts. It will be sent to all the participants by e-mail in advance and you will receive the printed booklet at the conference. The conference fee of 20 Euro is to be collected from the participants after their arrival. We will provide free accommodation for all the conference participants.
