Institute of Pharmacology

The Institute of Pharmacology pursues both basic science as well as translational research. Basic science projects focus on molecular mechanisms, that control physiological processes in epithelial and neuronal tissues during development and under homeostatic conditions. More medically oriented scientific projects aim to elucidate mechanisms underlying pathophysiological processes and drug action, and to identify novel drug targets, in particular in the gastrointestinal system, the kidney and the nervous system.

In teaching, the Institute offers a comprehensive range of courses and seminars in human medicine, dentistry and human biology.
