    Poland is one of the centres of scientific progress in Central and Eastern Europe and well known for scientists as Marie Skłodowska-Curie. AMU Poznań is listed as one of the best universities in the country. Approximately 35,000 students are enrolled at 21 faculties across the city. Poznań has ca. 540,000 inhabitants and is one of the larger cities of Poland. It also has a historic district worth seeing.

    AMU is partnering with LiMa via their Faculty of Educational Studies and their Faculty of Biology.

    As part of the project, guest lecturers from AMU participate in the virtual lecture series #TravelToTeach where they are going to discuss the Introduction to the preparation, implementation and reflexion of multicultural pupil exchange programs, the Didactic value of botanic gardens, and Teaching biodiversity.

  • University of Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal)

    Portugal is known for its seafarers and explorers as, for instance, Vasco da Gama. Portugese language and culture spread around the globe and today Portugese is spoken by around 270 million people. These international influences are also reflected in the Portugese capital Lisbon. 2020 Lisbon was awarded with the European Green Capital Award. ULisboa was founded as early as 1290 and roughly 50,000 students are currently enrolled there.

    ULisboa is partnering with LiMa via their Institute of Education and their Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT).

    Guest lecturers from ULisboa also took part in the virtual lecture series #TravelToTeach where they introduced students to the Initial Teacher Education in Portugal.

  • Lucian-Blaga-University (Sibiu, Romania)

    Sibiu (German: Hermannstadt) is one of the most important cities that are home to the German minority in Romania and may therefore feel foreign and yet familiar. Sibiu and Marburg are connected by a twinning arrangement. In 2007 Sibiu was the European Capital of Culture and the city is the place of birth of, among others, the current Romanian President Klaus Johannis and the former German Interior Minister Otto Schily. 17,000 students study at the 9 faculties of Lucian-Blaga-University and several study programmes are offered in German.

    Lucian-Blaga-University is partnering with LiMa via their Teacher Training Department at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.

  • University of Kragujevac (Kragujevac, Serbia)

    Located in the heart of Serbia, Kragujevac has been the temporary capital of the nation in the past and is home to 150,000 people. The University of Kragujevac is one of the oldest institutions for higher education in Serbia. The 12 faculties are distributed across 6 cities in the region (Kragujevac, Čačak, Kraljevo, Jagodina, Užice) and approximately 20,000 students are enrolled at the university.

    The University of Kragujevac is partnering with LiMa via their Faculty of Education in Jagodina.

    As part of this partnership, guest lecturers from the University of Kragujevac held a lecture on  the Flipped Classroom model: possibilities for hybrid STEAM teaching for the virtual lecture series #TravelToTeach.
