Travel information

By plane: We recommend you to use the Frankfurt International Airport, which is located just south of Frankfurt am Main, and not Frankfurt Hahn (this airport is about two hours away from Frankfurt). From Frankfurt International Airport, you will need about 1 1/2 hours to Marburg by train and a bit more than an hour by car, depending on traffic. If you go by train, take the S-Bahn, located close to the arrivals area in Terminal 1, to Frankfurt Central Station and from there regional (RE) or long-distance trains (IC) to Marburg (more information on http://www.bahn.de/en). Please make sure you get off the train at Marburg Hbf. (Central Station) and not Marburg Süd. If you go by car, there are driving instructions below.

By trainIt is easy to travel to Marburg from most major cities in Germany. You will probably have to travel via Frankfurt or Kassel, or at least in that direction with Marburg en route  (more information on http://www.bahn.de/en). Make sure to get off the train at Marburg Hbf. (Central Station) and not Marburg Süd.

By car: If you are driving to Marburg from Frankfurt, you take the highway A5, following the signs directing you towards the city Kassel. This will take you to Marburg via Gießen, where you will get on the highway A485 and follow the signs directing you towards Marburg. This highway leads into the through-road B3 (keep left) which then goes directly to Marburg.

If you are coming from Kassel, you will also need to get on the through-road B3 (depending on your departure location, first the A49 then the B3), and follow the signs directing you to Marburg.
