Zum o. g. Zeitpunkt aktivieren wir für alle per Web-Login (Shibboleth) angebundenen IT-Dienste die Eingabe des zweiten Faktors. Was bereits für ILIAS, Marvin, ZeusX und VPN eingeführt wurde, ist dann auch für alle weiteren Dienste notwendig. Sie können sich ab dann nur noch mit einem zweiten Faktor per Shibboleth anmelden. Gleichzeitig haben wir durch längere und einheitliche Timeout-Zeiten die Handhabung deutlich verbessert. Das bedeutet, Sie bleiben länger an den IT-Systemen angemeldet und müssen weniger oft Ihre Zugangsdaten eingeben (Single-Sign-On).
Nach Aktivierung der Zweifaktor-Authentisierung (2FA) für Marvin und ILIAS in diesem Jahr, führen wir den zweiten Faktor nun auch für alle weiteren persönlichen Uni-Accounts ein und sorgen so für eine verbesserte systematische Absicherung aller weiteren per Web-Login angebundenen Dienste. Ausnahmen bilden die Uni Marburg-App und der Katalog Plus.
Ziel ist es, langfristig zu verankern, dass der Uni-Account standardmäßig aus Username, Passwort und zweitem Faktor besteht, wie es bei anderen Dienstleistern bereits der Fall ist.
Dienste, die von dieser Umstellung betroffen sind, sind zum Beispiel die next.hessenbox, Projektmanagementsystem Planio, Webkonferenzen (BigBlueButton), Team-Chat (Matrix), Forschungsdatenrepositorium (DSpace), Bewerbungsmanagement (BITE), Mobility Online, DFN Dienste (z. B. Terminplaner), Chat-AI der GWDG, Buchung XSpaces, Elektronisches Laborbuch (eLabFTW).

At the mentioned time, we will activate two-factor authentication for all IT services connected via web login (Shibboleth). What has already been implemented for ILIAS, Marvin, ZeusX, and VPN will then also be necessary for all other services. From then on, you will only be able to log in via Shibboleth using two-factor authentication. At the same time, we have significantly improved the login process by implementing longer and standardized timeout periods. This means you will remain logged in to the IT systems for longer and will need to enter your login credentials less frequently (single sign-on).
Following the activation of two-factor authentication (2FA) for Marvin and ILIAS this year, we are now introducing the second factor for all other personal university accounts, thus ensuring improved systematic security for all other services connected via Shibboleth. The Uni Marburg-App and the Catalog Plus are exceptions.
The goal is to establish, in the long term, that the university account consists of a username, password, and two-factor authentication by default, as is already the case with other service providers.
Services affected by this change include, for example, next.hessenbox, the Planio project management system, web conferencing (BigBlueButton), team chat (Matrix), the research data repository (DSpace), application management (BITE), Mobility Online, DFN services (e.g., the appointment scheduler), the GWDG chat AI, XSpace booking, and the electronic lab notebook (eLabFTW).
