The introductory training course is especially intended for those students or doctoral candidates who are going to be instructors at tutorial courses for the first time, but it also incorporates contents for those who have already experience as a tutor or as a student within the field of teacher training. The main topics of the introductory training course are:

• The tutor’s role in the German academic context;
• The relationships between the tutor and the different participants in the teaching and learning process;
• Basic didactic principles about the learning process and how to promote it;
• How to plan a digital tutorial course;
• How to shape a friendly and motivating learning environment;
• Didactic methods: their purpose and how to apply them.

 Learning Goals

Participants of this workshop will:

• Be acquainted with your role as an international tutor within the German academic context;
• Seize basic knowledge about learning processes when planning a tutorial course;
• Enunciate teaching and learning objectives for your own tutorial course;
• Feel confident in your job as a tutor.
