Letters or Recommendation

Letters of recommendation are important for you but also time consuming for me to write. Of course, I am happy to write letters of recommendation for students who have done well in my classes or who have been reliable research assistants. However, you should at least have attended one seminar and my lecture and you should have passed them with good grades and actively participated. Otherwise I will not be able to write a good recommendation letter for you. Once I have accepted your request of writing a recommendation letter you need to provide me with the following additional information:

- Your resume.  Be sure to include information on research experiences, extracurricular activities, or anything else that you think would be relevant for me to mention in your letter.

- Your personal statement/cover letter (the essay in which you outline your goals and reasons for applying to graduate school or for a particular scholarship, job, internship, etc…).

- A copy of your transcripts (unofficial is fine)

Once you have gathered all the documents needed, please send them along with your application to my e-mail address (
