Energy Transition @Cooperatives
The wide range of challenges associated with shaping the energy transition - especially “on the ground” in the region - has brought the cooperative, as a traditional form of community-based economic activity and self-help, back into the public spotlight. With this in mind, the ifG Marburg aims to pool expertise from the areas of work outlined above and, together with the members of the expert panel - Professor Elmar Lukas (University of Magdeburg) and Dr. Andreas Wieg (DGRV e.V.) - apply it to studies on the energy transition.
Both have extensive project experience in renewable energy and the energy transition. In terms of content, the institute’s work focuses on investment-related feasibility analyses that account for multiple risks in accordance with regulatory requirements, as well as accompanying empirical analyses of the specific characteristics of district heating networks and any implementation challenges.
