Didactics of Political Education

Welcome to the Department Didactics of Political Education! As the science of political learning, the Didactics of Political Education focuses on the history and philosophy of the field as well as the empirical study of teaching and learning processes. In research, our primary focus is on the theoretical development of political didactics and the empirical, mostly qualitative, study of various factors influencing political teaching and learning processes in schools. The content focus is on addressing issues of right-wing extremism and political education in a migration society. These themes are reflected in our teaching offerings for students of the high school subject "Politics and Economics" and in the political science modules of the educational teaching degree.
