Call for Papers: „Challenges in Figurative Language Annotation“

As part of the international conference Grammar and Corpora 2027 (June 30 – July 2, 2027, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf) , Dr. Toke Hoffmeister and Carolin Brandt are organizing a theme session titled "Challenges in Figurative Language Annotation."

This theme session addresses the challenges of annotating figurative language across diverse communicative contexts. It focuses on the operationalization of figurative language annotation, as well as transparent and reliable annotation practices within the domains of child language, learner corpora, and multilingual communication.

Scholars are invited to submit their contributions. The deadline for abstract submission is October 15, 2026.
