Only a few is know about asymmetrically substituted oxalyl pseudohalides. Our two most recent papers have now been accepted for publication in Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. (Part I and Part II). The model oxalyl halide isothiocyanates exhibit unique isomerism in solution. Upon reaction with activated carbon at elevated temperatures they decarbonylate to yield the corresponding carbonyl halide isothiocyanate.
