25.02.2026 Bismuth + Platinum: an Intriguing Combination! (#2)

Cationic alkyl bismuth species have been difficult to get access to. Here we report a series of these species, including compounds with unusual structural motifs (bismacycles and cyclopropyl substituents). The new complexes are soft Lewis acids and can successfully be applied as novel, electron-withdrawing Z-type ligands towards platinum complexes. These results have been obtained in collaboration with the von Hänisch group and have just been accepted for publication in Chem. Eur. J. - congratulations!
