Webmail

On Friday, February 13, 2026, we are going to migrate our webmail service from 5 AM to 12 PM.
Webmail, calendar, and contacts will be unavailable during the migration.
📧 Email retrieval during the migration will only be possible via local email programs  or the Uni Marburg app.
⚙️ Re-configuration: Calendars and address books in local programs will need to be reconnected after the migration.

Background

The webmail client is based on the open-source software SOGo. It enables the use of the email account associated with the university account (Staff and Students) as well as maintaining and sharing calendars and address books. In addition to reading and sending emails, the webmail client also allows you to create and edit mail filters for incoming emails as well as absence messages and email forwards.

After the migration, the webmail services will remain accessible at the familiar addresses:

You need your university account (Staff or Students) to log in to the webmail client. To do this, please open the following websites (preferably using the Chrome browser):

Students:
https://home.students.uni-marburg.de/

Staff:
https://home.staff.uni-marburg.de/

The desired language can be selected before logging in by clicking next to the globe symbol. By default, the language set in the web browser is used.

In the user interface, you can switch between the individual services (Email, Calendar, Address Book, Options):
At the top right, you will find the calendar, the address book, emails and the option to log out.
Using the icon to the left of the date, you can enlarge the view. To open the settings, click on the gear symbol to the right of your username.

The settings can be accessed via the gear symbol at the top right.

There you can make, among other things, the following important adjustments:

  • Setting up an automatic absence message
  • Creation of filter rules
  • Forwarding of incoming emails to another email address.
  • Management of signatures

Signatures and additional email addresses can be created under Identities in Email >> IMAP Account.
