Start-up Support
Philipps-Universität offers support during the start-up phase for start-ups that are founded from within the university.
MAFEX
Marburg Center für Entrepreneurship und Innovation (MAFEX), which supports founders from the university on their path to self-employment, should be mentioned here. MAFEX's activities focus on raising awareness and qualifying target groups in curricular and extracurricular programmes, promoting innovation and supporting start-ups, particularly those that emerge from the university or from partner organizations. In addition, the mutual transfer of knowledge between the university and its partner organizations, the economy, society, politics and culture is actively promoted.
StartMiUp
In the "StartMiUp Innovations- und Startup-Campus" of the three Central Hessian Universities Marburg University (UMR), Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen and Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), the established start-up advisory services ECM (JLU), MAFEX (UMR) and THINK (THM) cooperate closely with their transfer departments with the aim of developing cross-university offers to support start-up ideas and establishing a lively start-up culture at the universities. Through workshops, events and networks, students, researchers and alumni are supported in developing their entrepreneurial potential.
StartMiUp Factory Sustainable Life
With the StartMiUp Factory Sustainable Life, the three Central Hessian Universities Marburg University, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen and Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, together with an exclusive network of regional companies, are pursuing the goal of providing start-ups with access to networks, key resources and manufacturing expertise and establishing a dynamic, internationally visible and liveable environment for founders in Central Hesse. The corporate partners also act as co-creative partners at eye level and provide start-ups with access to production experience and new markets through mentoring, coaching and financing.
