INTERNATIONAL@MARBURG

With INTERNATIONAL@MARBURG, Philipps-Universität pursues alternative and innovative internationalization efforts in various activity fields that focus, among others, on local measures. All measures taken concentrate on strengthening university members’ international and intercultural competence (proficiency) on and off campus.

The project aims at increasing the international visibility of Philipps-Universität Marburg, promotes quantitative and qualitative international mobility, and supports students to find their way in the scientific community and on the job market by strengthening their academic and international profiles. In addition, INTERNATIONAL@MARBURG addresses international students with joint measures that are organized in collaboration with partners of the city of Marburg to further integrate them on and off campus by providing non-academic support.

INTERNATIONAL@MARBURG is built up of the following components:

  1. INTERNATIONAL_INTERCULTURAL@MARBURG: Subproject including measures that support students’ intercultural and international competence on campus.
  2. INTERNATIONAL_FRIENDS@MARBURG: Subproject that supports interaction between German and international students with local residents of the city of Marburg. Simultaneously, the subproject seeks to strengthen the collaboration between university actors and local community organizations.
  3. INTERNATIONAL_VOICES@MARBURG: This subproject supports (web-based) exchange and communication between German and international students to facilitate a “virtual” mobility.
  4. INTERNATIONAL_CONFERENCE@MARBURG provides a conference-based networking platform for university actors and partners of the city of Marburg.
