IUSP+

Are you interested in extending your stay in Marburg? Would you like to have additional seminars and Language courses? If your answer is yes then our IUSP+ options may be just for you!

IUSP+Summer

The IUSP+ Summer gives you the opportunity to start your stay in Germany in July by attending our 4-week International Summer University (ISU). The ISU includes a German Language Course, 2 academic seminars, field trips and much more. In August, you continue your stay with the start of the IUSP fall semester. IUSP+ gives you the chance to learn about German Politics and History, go on exciting field trips and take an additional two academic seminars.  Find out more below!

  • Academic Program

    IUSP IUSP+Summer
    • 1 Intensive German Course (during the first six weeks) - 6 ECTS
    • 1 German Culture Class (during the first six weeks) - 6 ECTS
    • 2 regular semester classes from the IUSP catalogue (for the eight weeks    following) - 6 ECTS each
    • Optional: 1 German Conversation Class - 2 ECTS
    • 2 Intensive German Courses (during the first twelve weeks) - 6 ECTS each
    • “German History and Politics” course 
    • 2 summer program classes seminars (each 2 weeks) - 3 ECTS each
    • 1 German Culture Class (September-October) - 6 ECTS
    • 2 regular semester classes from the IUSP catalogue (October-December) - 6 ECTS each
    • Optional: 1 German Conversation Class - 2 ECTS

    Including:

    • Language course (120 hours)
    • German History and Culture course (56 hours), including course-related trips/tours
    • 2 seminars (48 hours each) of your choice
    • Conversation class (36 hours)
    • Course material for the intensive German class
    • Cultural program (Weekend trips: Hostel, breakfast and guided city tours are included in the program fee, some of it counting towards classes, see above)
    • Meal subsidy (comes in the shape of a cafeteria debit card, charged with € 50 per month) Please note that we do not have a meal plan!
    • Semester administration fee including ticket for free public transport
    • Local bus pass for the time before the validity of the semester ticket
    • Accommodation (single room in one of our student dormitories, plus cleaning fee. If you do not need accommodation through us, we deduct € 800 from the program fee.)
    • Health insurance*
    • Assistance through program team

IUSP+Winter

With IUSP+ Winter we offer the option of an additional 6 weeks of program, during which you will take an extra Intensive German Language Course. Your program will start in January and end in June – a full 6 months. By the beginning of the regular IUSP schedule, you will already have completed an intensive German Language Course before you will join the normal program, beginning  with your second Language Course. After that, you will be well prepared to start the normal semester and your academic seminars. You can find more information on the program below!
