Our team works on research questions in the fields of Political Economy (in particular, the political economy of natural resources and the resource curse), Public Finance (e.g., shadow economy and smuggling), Applied Macroeconomics (e.g., foreign direct investment, oil price shocks) and Labor Economics (e.g., labor market rigidities, public-private sector wage differentials). We mainly focus on empirical research, using econometric tools to investigate Middle East & North Africa (MENA) related political economy questions.
