This workshop is designed for students, young academics and Ph.D. students who wish to acquire and improve their writing skills in the English language. The content of this workshop ranges from general aspects of writing in English, such as a short review of text types, differences in format and formalities, writing as a process, structure and organization of a well-written essay, abstract, and publication, to special writing tasks like summarizing results and describing charts, paragraphing, framing and signposting. In addition, special attention will be paid to more language-specific topics such as sentence length, register, style and voice, academic vocabulary, utilizing a thesaurus and online dictionary, common grammatical mistakes and formatting errors, and punctuation.
Participants will be expected to write a short text and bring it directly to the session!
Registration:
The seminar is limited to 15 participants.

Participants of a single certificate: 30 Euro,
External participants: 50 Euro.
