Synopsis
What is intercultural competence and how can I become interculturally competent?
Becoming aware of my own cultural-specific standards and becoming aware of cultural differences:
-
Learning about different cultures and their habits and attitudes in working and social life.
-
Questions and answers concerning the German culture - what cultural differences do people experience that come to work and live in Germany?
-
How can I contribute to an effective and harmonic working atmosphere in an intercultural team?
This workshop is set up for Non-German academics, studying or working in Germany and is held in English language. This workshop focuses on practical exercises to train intercultural competence. There will be short theoretical sessions which will then be examined and conveyed through discussions and role-play. Work sheets will be handed out which include summaries of the main theories and additional information for further reading.
