Ethno-politics, public policy and the role of the anthropologist in the Amazon region
The presentation will examine the ethno-politics of indigenous associations, their interfaces with the sustainable development proposals disseminated by international environmentalism and misunderstandings with the Brazilian government policies to the ethnic minorities. Will also discuss the indigenous initiatives of cultural revitalization and the consequences of this kind of interethnic relationship for the fieldwork in anthropology in an contemporary context.
