(2004-2005) The exhibition is the result of a museum exercise by the Department of the Study of Religions which took place during the summer semester 2004 under leadership of HD Dr. habil. Peter J. (2004) An exhibition of popular posters from Indonesia (Java) collected by Edith Franke (University of Hannover) and Michael Pye in 2003, illustrating (i) the acculturation of Islam in Java, with special reference to the Walisongo, (ii) the relation to classical themes of Islam and (iii) the way in which Islamic faith and practice is presented to children today. | Guadalupenismo und Zivilreligion in Mexiko.
(2001) A series of posters collected in various cities of Mexico by Michael Pye, illustrating a spectrum of religious symbolism from the Guadalupe cult to secularized civil religion, with various stages in between. | Japanese Summer Festivals / Sommerfeste in Japan.
(1999) Posters relating to matsuri selected and studied by students from a collection of about nearly one hundred posters on this theme. These posters, originally exhibited in Brussels, were donated to the Department of the Study of Religions by Prof. Minoru Sonoda and are lodged (since 1998) in the Museum of Religions (Religionskundliche Sammlung).
