The Culture Collection of Algae orginated from the Culture Collection of the Phycologist Prof. H.A. von Stosch (1908-1987) at the formly Botanical Institut in Marburg. In 1985 we lost about 50% our Cultures by a fire. Today we cultivate about 110 stains for scientific research and teaching. Some stain and species are only avaible in our Culture Collection. The cultures are maintained by Dr. Klaus Wenderoth and Christa Zimmermann.
