The four-semester master’s program “Educational Science: Analyzing – Leading – Shaping” offers you the opportunity to pursue both a research-oriented and a practice-oriented course of study. You will learn to analyze educational and developmental processes, develop pedagogical guidelines and concepts, and implement them in various organizational contexts. You will also collect your own empirical data on discipline- and practice-relevant questions in the field of educational science, evaluate this data, and use it to justify your leadership and design decisions.
Major topics
Right at the start of your studies, you’ll choose a major area of focus (either adult education, inclusive education, or social pedagogy) based on your interests and academic profile. You’ll work together with students from the other areas of specialization on interdisciplinary topics and actively contribute your own specialized perspective. This gives you both a clear academic profile and a view of the “big picture” of the education and social services sectors.
Objectives
As a successful master's graduate, professional options will open up to you on management and organizational levels of educational institutions in the professional fields of advisement, continuing education and training, in university and non-university research and in scientific work areas of funders, associations, ministries and educational and social administrations.
There is no specific career path, but throughout your studies — and especially during your (practical) research — you’ll receive intensive guidance to help you connect your studies to your future career, develop new perspectives, and build professional contacts.
Experience has shown that the career paths of successful graduates of educational programs are very diverse. This also means that there are a variety of possibilities for selectively qualifying for specific fields, though previous professional experience, internships, initial professional experiences or additional qualifications.
