Dear students and staff of Faculty 21,
The Chair of Inclusion and Exclusion cordially invites you to a lecture followed by a discussion with our guest lecturer, Dr. Giulia Pedrucci from the University of Verona (Italy). Dr. Pedrucci specializes in disability history and is visiting Philipps-University Marburg as part of the Creative Space application by Dr. Ramona Jelinek-Menke (FB03), Dr. Maximilian Haars (FB16), and Peter Nothbaum (FB21).
Dr. Pedrucci will present her latest research project, and thereafter, we will engage in a comprehensive discussion on various related issues. We eagerly await your suggestions and thoughts on this stimulating topic.
The discussion will focus on the following questions:
- Why is historical research on disability and religion currently important for people with and without disabilities and for an inclusive society that is currently being explicitly called into question by the growing political right in Germany?
- How can science communication, in this field, succeed, i.e. the transmission of scholarly findings about the investigated historical contexts and their current significance to different target groups? What role can new media and video games in educational contexts play here?
When? June 18th, 2024 - 16:15 pm
Where? Pilgrimstein 12, Room 00/0100
Registration is not required.
We look forward to seeing you!
