It is our pleasure to invite you to the lecture by Prof. Anna Osypchuk on "How the War makes Ukrainian Rethink Themselves, Their Past, and Their Relations to Others“. She is the director for Research at the School for Policy Analysis and Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The lecture will be held on Friday 8th, 4pm, Ketzerbach 63, 2nd floor. Below you find an abstract of the lecture. This is an on-site-event only.

Abstract
There had been a lot of stereotypes both true and false regarding different gaps and divisions in how Ukrainians see themselves, relate to other people or countries in and out of Ukraine, and remember their past. Drawing on the results of qualitative and quantitative data collected since February 24, 2022, I will discuss how the ways people are identifying themselves, thinking about their past and relating to others are changing. I also discuss further implications such changes may bring to social cohesion and peacebuilding/reconciliation efforts in the future (i.e. after the end of war).
