Terahertz spectroscopy on organic substances

The research group built an ATR spectrometer for the Terahertz field. ATR means "attenuated total reflection". With this spectrometer we will investigate on processes of crystallization and other proceedings in solutions.

In addition the semiconductor photonics group studies the THz properties of liquid crystals. Beside the physical understanding of the material parameters we also try to identify liquid crystals, which could function as basic material for switchable THz components.
