After successfully passing all 4 parts of the first state examination after the 4th term, you have the opportunity to complete the elective internship with 112 hours (see Pharmaceutical Licensure Act, "Approbationsordnung für Apotheker", AAppO) with a historical cultural scientifical topic at our institute. Currently we investigate the healing arts of ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and the coptic culture.

The internship comprises a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part you will search for literature in libraries to get to know which healing concepts were relevant during the ages and under which terms the old knowledge is able to enhance today's research. In the practical part you will reproduce recipes out of ancient prescriptions and re-evaluate it under current natural scientific, pharmaceutical aspects.

At the end of the course you will present a written record of your work and give a talk to the course about your findings.

You will hear 4 lectures at our institute to learn some basic information. Another 2 days will be reserved for personal briefings with your supervisors. Within another week you are able to collect literature about your specific topic at our library and the main library. This process is assisted by the employees of the institute. The rest of the time is spent with manufacturing the recipes, finalizing your written record and your presentation.

We are looking forward to your application.

The application has to be made in MARVIN and must not be sent directly to our institute!

Further information about the application can be found under the following link (German only!):
